For those of you who haven’t seen Drive yet, go out and see it immediately. It’s the first movie I’ve seen all year that I’ve just absolutely loved, not to mention the absolutely stellar soundtrack.
Check it out.
New song from stoner-lo-fi-pop-punk prince Nathan Williams. Destroy Features Damian Abraham from Fucked Up (who put out one of the albums of the year, if you haven’t heard already)
Destroy. Check it out above.
And you can preorder the EP over here. Get that rad ass shirt.
New Trash Talk song/video.
Starring that motherfucker with dreads that’s at every hardcore show I’ve been to almost ever.
Seriously, this dude is even in a bunch of videos on youtube of hardcore bands. Specifically, he’s in the video of Trash Talk at Rasputin’s in Berkeley. He’s in the video of the No Flag show in Macarthur Park.
There are more, but I won’t bother listing ‘em.
Anyways, new Trash Talk. They’ve got a new EP coming out in November. Good shit. Somebody I know once got fired from Hot Topic for saying “every faggot who thinks he knows hardcore listens to three bands. Trash Talk, Ceremony, and Have Heart”. That doesn’t have a whole lot to do with anything, but I just think it’s funny.

Jack White…JEFF The Brotherhood…Insane Clown Posse.
I don’t even have anything to say…

There have been some quality hip hop releases this year. The first time I heard Goblin, I figured it would probably be the best rap album of the year, but as time went by, and my interest in whatever Tyler was doing started to wain, I was proven very wrong. Beastie Boys, Death Grips, Shabazz Palaces, among many others, far exceed Tyler’s sloppy self indulgent 74 minute mess.
Then, I heard this album. Freely available on the internet, Blu’s new album No York is by far the best Hip Hop album I’ve heard all year.
Go and fucking get it right now.
In a year where my favorite albums have been amongst a strong assortment of shit I don’t usually listen to (The Book of Mormon, Bon Iver, Death Grips), it’s nice that something that, until recently flew right under the radar, knows exactly what I want to listen to.
Leave Home by The Men is one of the most beautifully constructed noise albums I’ve heard in a very long time, and it’s not far from perfection.
Check it out.
