The new GIRLS album didn’t disapoint at all.  It’s not QUITE as incredible as their past two releases, and I’d say that it’s their weakest to date, but it’s still pretty incredible.

This, I think, is my favorite song.  It’s called Just A Song, and it may be the prettiest song I’ve heard all year.

And by the way, GIRLS are playing at FYF Fest this year.  You should all check it out, gonna be one of the best festivals all year.  Tickets still on sale but are going fast, don’t sleep on this.

Tripping Daisy is a band I’ve been listening to alot lately.  The lead singer reminds me alot of Wayne from the Flaming Lips, and the whole band just sort of sounds like The Lips in an alternate dimension where they never really got any sort of popularity.  It’s good stuff, check it out.

If you guys haven’t been listening to FIDLAR, you should probably do it right now so that you can show ‘em to all of your friends and be super cool before they explode, because it’s going to happen soon.

I saw them a few weeks ago opening up for Fucked Up and Trash Talk, and it’s exactly the kind of reverby, lazy, drunken surf punk that I’ve grown to love over the years.  They don’t have any pretensions about what they write, and when it comes down to it I don’t think a single song isn’t about smoking weed.  

This particular song is about their friend Max, who I guess can’t surf.  It’s good.  Check it out, and then go and buy their 7” from White Iris before they sell out.

Also, we’re putting on a show with them next month.   We’ll let you know when we have a place to put it on.  (If you have a place in LA that we can use for punk rock, let us know)
